Top Priorities

Education

Education is the cornerstone of a thriving community and the key to unlocking the potential of every individual.  I am deeply committed to ensuring that all students in our community have access to a high-quality education that prepares them for success in life, whether they choose to pursue higher education, enter the workforce, or follow a different path.

I believe that every child deserves a safe, supportive, and enriching learning environment—one that nurtures their unique talents, challenges them to grow, and equips them with the skills they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world. This means investing in our schools, supporting our teachers, and ensuring that our educational system is both equitable and inclusive.

All my children attended American Canyon Public Schools. My youngest daughter is a 7th grade student at ACMS. Through the years, up until today, I have supported the schools and the district in different capacities. Right now, I serve as a board member for the Citizen’s Oversight Committee for the A2 school bond. I actively campaigned for it because I believe that our students deserve facilities that are conducive to learning and development. I take it as a personal responsibility to ensure that the bond money will be spent as promised.

I advocate for policies that strengthen our public schools and expand access to educational opportunities for all students, regardless of their background or circumstances. This includes supporting early childhood education, improving funding for K-12 schools, and promoting programs that prepare students for a variety of career paths, including vocational training, apprenticeships, and community college. Currently, I have started to explore the possibilities of bringing vocational trade programs into the city for graduating high school students. MC3 (Multi-Craft Core Curriculum) programs, for example, offer our young people a viable and rewarding career path, equipping them with the skills and certifications needed to enter the workforce confidently. This not only enhances their employability but also contributes to their personal and economic stability. These programs address the critical need to replenish our dwindling labor force. By training a new generation of skilled workers, we ensure the sustainability and growth of essential trades that are vital to our economy and infrastructure.

I am particularly passionate about ensuring that our schools are equipped to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those with special needs, English language learners, and students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Every student should have the opportunity to succeed, and that requires a commitment to providing the resources, support, and opportunities they need to reach their full potential.

Health and Safety

Health and safety are the foundation of a strong, vibrant community. As your next Councilmember, I am dedicated to ensuring that every resident of our community has access to the resources, services, and protections they need to live healthy, secure lives. Our community deserves leadership that prioritizes the well-being of all people, from access to quality healthcare to ensuring that our neighborhoods are safe for everyone.

 

Health is more than just the absence of illness—it’s about access to quality healthcare, mental health services, clean air and water, nutritious food, and safe places to live, work, and play. My commitment to supporting policies that expand access to mental health services and wellness initiatives is reflected by my service to the Napa County Behavioral Health Board as a board member since 2023. I have also been a longtime partner and volunteer of NEWS Napa Valley, an advocacy group that empowers victims of Sexual Abuse and Domestic Violence. As a healthcare professional, I understand the importance of addressing the growing problem of mental health. I will continue to support initiatives and spearhead new policies that address this issue so that we can collectively come up with meaningful solutions.

Safety is equally critical. Every person in our community has the right to feel safe in their homes, schools, and public spaces. When I get elected, I will work to ensure that our local law enforcement has the tools and training needed to protect our community while building trust and accountability with the public. I will also advocate for community-based safety initiatives that empower residents to take an active role in keeping our neighborhoods safe, from neighborhood watch programs to youth engagement and violence prevention efforts.

Public safety also extends to preparedness. In times of crisis—whether from natural disasters like wildfires, health emergencies, or other unforeseen events—our community must be ready to respond. I will work to strengthen our emergency response systems, improve disaster preparedness, and ensure that our community is equipped to handle emergencies with resilience and care.

Together, we can build a community where health and safety are not just aspirations, but realities. A community where every person has access to the healthcare they need and feels safe and secure in their daily lives. Let’s work together to create a healthier, safer future for American Canyon.

Quality of Life

A vibrant community is one where every resident enjoys a high quality of life—a community where people feel connected, supported, and empowered to thrive. As your representative, I am committed to enhancing the quality of life for all residents by focusing on the factors that make our community a better place to live, work, and raise a family.

 

When I joined the American Canyon Community and Parks Foundation in 2021 as a board member, my goal is to “Improve the American Canyon experience” for both its residents and visitors. Since then, we have made a significant positive impact on the quality of life here in our city. Through the hard work of our Board, Staff and Volunteers, we have developed programs that caters to school aged children all the way to seniors and everyone in between! Our biggest project to date is the Napa River Ecology Center. It is a unique space that caters to learners of all ages and provides a platform for the conservation and preservation of our wetlands. I am proud to say that I am on the steering committee of that project.

I am dedicated to advancing initiatives that promote sustainable growth and protect our environment, so that future generations can enjoy the same quality of life we strive for today. This includes supporting green spaces, encouraging eco-friendly development, and investing in renewable energy and public transportation that reduces our carbon footprint.

Moreover, quality of life is about connection and community. I will work to strengthen the bonds between neighbors, support local events and programs that bring people together, and ensure that our community remains welcoming and inclusive for all. By fostering a sense of belonging and pride in our community, we can create a place where everyone feels valued and has the opportunity to contribute to our shared success.

Together, we can build a community where every resident not only meets their basic needs but also enjoys a rich, fulfilling life. A community where our shared commitment to conservation of our wetlands and open spaces enhances the well-being of everyone. Sustainable growth and development are essential to building a community that thrives today and for generations to come. As your next Councilmember, I am committed to guiding our community toward a future where economic prosperity, environmental stewardship, and social equity go hand in hand.

 

Planning for the future with a vision that balances progress with preservation is the foundation of sustainability. It means making smart, responsible decisions about how we use our land, manage our resources, and grow our economy. I believe that we can create opportunities for economic development while protecting the natural beauty and environmental health that make our community special.

I am dedicated to promoting policies that encourage responsible development—development that meets the needs of our community without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs. This includes supporting projects that are energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and designed to minimize our carbon footprint. I will advocate for green building practices, the expansion of public transportation, and the preservation of open spaces and natural habitats.

Sustainable growth also means ensuring that our community remains affordable and accessible to all residents. I will work to create a balanced approach to development that includes affordable housing options, supports local businesses, and fosters job creation, all while maintaining the character and integrity of our neighborhoods.

Furthermore, I believe that sustainability is not just an environmental issue, but a social one as well. I am committed to ensuring that the benefits of growth are shared equitably across our community, so that all residents have access to the opportunities that come with progress.
